Roman Reigns Sad Update & Why Brock Lesnar Won the WWE Title at Day 1 - Wrestling News & Rumors 2022
Roman Reigns Tested Positive for Covid
Now that the day one pay-per-view is over, there are huge updates about Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. So first, let's talk about Roman Reigns about an hour before the pay-per-view was scheduled to start. He tweeted out that he had tested positive for covid and would not be competing on the day. One pay-per-view against Brock Lesnar. Many fans were very saddened, not only because he wasn't going to appear on the pay-per-view, but because he was sick. Roman Reigns in the past has battled leukemia. And when you have an illness like that, it weakness your immune system.
And if you get sick, it becomes very serious, because when you have a depleted immune system an illness like this can become very serious. And during the day one pay-per-view, we really didn't give any updates about Roman Reigns' current physical condition. Instead, they just said, Roman Reigns isn't going to compete. And he sent out this tweet, but we're going to go on with the show, and we weren't told about, okay, well, how is he doing with this new illness? Is he okay? Is he going to get through this very quickly? Or is it very bad? We didn't know during the pay-per-view and WWE didn't give us any information.
But after the pay-per-view went off the air, some new information leaked out. And according to rumors, Roman Reigns has been hospitalized. But right now, this was just done as a precaution, not because he's severely ill. It is only because of his health issues in the past, where he had a very serious life-threatening these with leukemia. And his doctor told him it's best for him to Simply Be hospitalized now so that we can take care of him and make sure you get over this illness as soon as possible and do not have any serious complications involving it.
So Roman Reigns is currently in the hospital simply as a precaution. According to reports, he is in good spirits, and he feels okay, he does have mild symptoms, but nothing life-threatening. And as far as Roman testing, positive an hour before the pay-per-view was about to start, this was done because Roman Reigns has actually been sick all week. And they were hoping that when they tested them prior to the show, his illness would be gone. Unfortunately, it wasn't gone, and he was still showing symptoms. And that's when they decided, you know what, it's not going away.
It's not getting better are you not only can't compete at the pay-per-view, but we better put you in the hospital. So with Roman Reigns, being unable to compete at the pay-per-view Brock, Lesnar was already at the building ready to fight. Unfortunately, he couldn't fight Roman Reigns. So he was moved to the WWE title match, and it was made into a fatal 5 way.
Brock Lesnar ended up winning the WWE
Brock Lesnar ended up winning the WWE title. And the real reason why that happened has now been revealed. So in the main event of the night, the Fatal Five-way you had, of course, Brock, Lesnar Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, and the WWE Champion Big E. It's rumored that it was originally planned for Big E to win the match. And he was going to pin Kevin Owens and Biggie would walk of day one, still the WWE Champion, but with what happened with Roman Reigns, WWE and the writers and district man had to rework everything.
Supposedly, they knew that this was going to be a possibility, that Roman Reigns wasn't going to be able to compete. So they have this Back-up Plan already set. It wasn't like an hour before the show. They're scrambling. What do we do? We Roman can't compete. They already knew that Roman had come down with this sickness. And if he tested positive right before the show, he wasn't going to be able to compete. So they knew that this could happen. So they had this Back-up Plan. And The Back-up Plan was okay. Let's insert Brock Lesnar into the main event.
Let's call it one of the biggest matches in WWE history, unless make people believe that Brock Lesnar actually might become the WWE Champion. Now, a lot of viewers thought, you know what Brock. He's continued his Feud with Roman down the road when Roman feels better. Brock's not going to win the WWE Championship. Well, those viewers who thought that ended up being wrong because, in this Fatal Five-way Brock, Lesnar hit the F5 on the biggie, the WWE Champion, and pinned him clean. One, two, three in the middle of the ring, and the biggie era has come to a sad end. And now now, a brand new era of the Beast Brock Lesnar, as WWE champion on Monday Night Raw now begins.
And the real reason why this happened has now been leaked. So when Roman Reigns came out and said, he tested positive WWE had to thank, okay, this is going to be the big Story coming out of day one. How do we top it? How do we overshadow it? How do we make it? So the news of Roman Reigns testing positive becomes Back Page News because something on the peer-review overshadows it. And the only thing they could think of as well, as have Brock, Lesnar, not only become the WWE Champion but also let's have him pinned the WWE champion because they could have had him pin Kevin Owens.
Kevin Owens has lost many times over the past year, and it's okay for him to lose, whereas biggie is pinned in the middle of the ring. That is huge. That's a big statement moment. That's a statement saying, Brock Lesnar didn't beat Kevin Owens. He beat the champion. And the reason why they did all of this stuff is so that it would become the front page headline instead of the Roman Reigns story.
And now that he is a WWE Champion fans will be tuning in to Monday Night Raw to see if Brock Lesnar is going to be on the show. We don't know exactly what his schedule is going to be a Champion. But right now, the plan is to keep Brock Lesnar, the WWE, and until at least the Royal Rumble, because at the Royal Rumble, there is going to be a match between Brock Lesnar, and Bobby Lashley. And that was kind of set up in the Fatal Five-way tonight. But no matter what you think about Brock Lesnar took the title off of Big E. He is now officially the WWE Champion.
What are your thoughts about Is Roman Reigns not competing? I had one pay-per-view and his current health crisis. And what do you think about Brock Lesnar defeating Big E and winning the Fatal Five-way match, and becoming the brand new WWE Champion.
